From mcspotlight.orgMcDonald's spend over $1.8 billion every year worldwide on advertising and promotions, trying to cultivate an image of being a 'caring' and 'green' company that is also a fun place to eat. Children are lured in (dragging their parents behind them) with the promise of toys and other gimmicks. But behind the smiling face of Ronald McDonald lies the reality - McDonald's only interest is money, making profits from whoever and whatever they can, just like all multinational companies. McDonald's Annual Reports talk of 'Global Domination' - they aim to open more and more stores across the globe - but their continual worldwide expansion means more uniformity, less choice and the undermining of local communities. If you read all that I am sure you thought at some point I already knew this. But what are you doing about it? Are you really not buying the fatty foods and choosing the salads or to walk into a grocery store and buy something wholesome. Are you? I am asking you do make the choice you don't want to sacrifice fast for favorite. Don't go get a fast food version of what you want go in a store or pack it up before you go.
And to the few of you out there that had no idea fast food was fatty food this is your wake up call. If we don't stop it the next generation wont know any better to try and stop it. The next generation will think 'we didn't do anything, so it must be OK.' G.A.R.D.E.N.S. -Ashley Crossman
